“You will see, He is the doer. You are not the doer. This will save you.” Sant Kirpal Singh.
God is the One in all, doing everything. We live and move only by the Power of God and have no existence separate from Him. But each one in ego, acts and considers themselves separate from each other and from God.
To explain the delusion of being the doer, Masters often give the example of the sun and it’s rays. Imagine if the rays of the sun think they’re separate from the sun, and feel, “I can reach further than the other rays, I must try to shine more brightly”, how can this be? There is no difference between the sun and it’s rays. If the rays were able to turn around and see where they came from, they would understand that they never did anything of their own choice; they live and shine only by the same will and power of the sun. This is our condition.
“What can a poor wooden puppet do? The puppeteer is in control… Nothing happens by my efforts; Whatever God wants will occur.” Sant Kirpal Singh
Each one thinks that by their efforts alone, things are done, and this misguided thinking has resulted in all the problems we see today; anxiety, despair, conflict and war. In reality, nothing we do has any value. All our thoughts, actions, achievements, successes and failures come from Him. If we accept the truth that the Master Power or God Power is the true doer and controller of everything, there would be no ego.
True greatness lies in the opposite direction; becoming less and less until only the Master Power within us remains. The only free will we have is whether or not we accept this truth.
How can we stop being the Doer.
The truth is you turned away yourself and decided to go into the dark alone. Now you are tangled up in others, and have forgotten what you once knew, and that's why everything you do has some weird sense of failure in it. Kabir
Kabir says we used our free will to reject our oneness with God, and chose to go through life alone. This is how we became responsible for our own actions. But, if we attribute all our works, all our thoughts, everything to Him, the taint of ego would be removed, the link between us and Him opened, and He could directly care for us.
It may take time to convince the ego-mind, but when we give up the illusion of doing, we’re not giving up anything valuable; just recognizing what the Father has always offered His children - peace here and hereafter, freedom from all worries and anxieties, and His unconditional love.
